The MT29F4G08ABAEAWP is Micron's 4Gb (512MB) SLC NAND Flash chip, offering double the capacity of the MT29F2G08 in the same TSOP-48 package. SLC NAND provides superior endurance (100K P/E cycles vs 3K for TLC), making it ideal for drone applications with frequent erase/write cycles such as logging, configuration storage, or embedded Linux root filesystem.
In drone companion computers running ArduPilot or PX4 on embedded Linux (e.g., OpenWRT-based systems), 512MB NAND provides sufficient storage for the OS image, mission files, and telemetry logs. The raw NAND interface requires an ECC controller (available in processors like Allwinner A20, NXP i.MX6).
